I've managed to do a lot in the past 24 hours. I made some sidebar links to important places, changed the icons to new ones, hung out at forums, wrote cards for characters and events, and made a box for the cards! The box is quite pretty, imo. I'd take a picture, but the camera's batteries are dead and I haven't found the new ones yet (but I know I have some in the house, somewhere!).

I've finished the plot outline, all that's left to do is to make a timeline for the story. And stock up on food.

Maybe next year..?

Today I wrote down about the first half of last night's dream to see how much I can write. It was only 623 words! D: But, it took maybe half an hour to write it and I could've could have been a lot wordier. Is that a word? In other words, I could have used a lot more words to describe the situations and I also could have described the setting a lot more. Anyway, I have confidence in my ability to write empty sentences if I need to. I just need to remember that quality < quantity.

I haven't touched my plot for about two months, but I still have the character descriptions in a drawer somewhere, and I have a very general plot figured out. My aim is to write an impossibly complicated soap opera, so I'll need to plan a dozen subplots (and draw the impossibly complicated family trees) beforehand.

I'll also need to update my icon collection. Icons are important.

I've begun planning my this year's novel. It's going to be an overly dramatic soap opera! I'm not sure about the main plot yet, but I think it will be about this wealthy family (who have some kind of family business), and they are oppressing the town folk in some way. There's a town hero who has a mask and a cape and it's all somewhat like Zorro. Except he won't be as cool. And he's a member of the wealthy family, perhaps the second oldest son.

What I do know is that there'll be a wedding between the wealthy family and another influential family.

Of course, I will need a dozen more subplots so that this will be a proper soap opera, but I think it won't be too hard to come up with them. Now that I have the Wedding, there'll also need to be a Murder (and you'll never guess who did it!! xD), Fucked Up Family Tree and you just know someone is going to end up getting Pushed in to the Pool.

So these maybe might be dares for this years nanowrimo. >__<

Mui. Eli tämä on mun nanowrimo journal, jossa on kyllä aika paljon myös mun akateeminen kirjoittelu kurssin tekstejä. Ne on kuitenkin turvassa muiden katseilta, joten sä et pääse lukemaan niitä. :P

I was reading the cheating/padding thread at the forums, and there it was: "she turned the tv off with disgust". So, the little romance thing I've been writing for the past week will be a tv-show! It's perfect for a tv-show! Or a Harlequin book. Yeeah, a book would work better... That's what I shall do. Muaha. xD

Oh, and I also broke the 40k today! I will have this novel finished by the end of the month, even if the last 5k will be horrible, horrible padding. Like:

"So, Glorious Revolution, what's that?"

"Well, Glorious Revolution (1688-1689) started when James II blah blah.."

...I just had British history exam. For the second time. I think that this time I actually passed! Yay. ^^


I also have this terrible urge to start writing another novel right after this one. I think I've lost my mind. Oh well, it's not like it was a big loss. xP

I had to interrupt my nano writing (I'm actually writing Ordinary Heroes now!) because I just noticed a warning label on the (school computer's) keyboard. It says:

WARNING:
Some experts believe that the use of any keyboard may cause serious injury. Consult statement on the back of this keyboard.

And on the other side it warns that it may cause wrist, neck, arm or back injuries. Wow. clearly this keyboard was made in the USA They do feel a need to warn about everything!

The first week's total is 10,671 words! So everything's going as planned. Too bad I'm soon running out of plot -I never did get around planning the middle part.. ^_^;; I guess I'll have to start using the dares. xD

By next Sunday I plan to reach 25,000 words. It shouldn't be impossible, I think..!? Next week I have to start writing my expositary essay and study for the British history exam (again). I got 1½ points out of five, which wasn't quite enough for the "good knowledge" which we are supposed to get. Thank god I passed the linguistics test, it would've been a nightmare to study for both of them!

An awesome start, I managed to write 1581 words in the first hour and a half. This is going so much better already compared to the nightmare of last year's nano.

eta: 2220 words! *does a happy little dance*

First writing day! I'm so excited!

Today started really well with the teacher calling that there are no classes today, so I got a headstart. It's been snowing non-stop for the past three days so I guess the roads aren't in an ideal driving condition. It's very pretty in here, though. :)

So! I guess I should start writing.. xD
